  • The state guarantees that these debt securities will redeemed and the interest will be paid to you on time.
  • The fixed interest rate of savings notes is set before the distribution of every emission and does not change before the redemption date.
  • No fees are applicable for the purchase, storage of savings notes and for the payment of cash for redeemable savings notes in branches of “Swedbank” (within 60 days as of the transfer of the funds to the account).

Your funds will be invested in a safe manner

  • Savings notes are issued by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and distributed by “Swedbank”.
  • Minimum invested amount – from EUR 100
  • No fees will be applied for acquisition, storage of savings bonds and payment of money for the bonds. This provision is valid for payment of money for redeemable savings bonds if the amount is collected in cash in branches of Swedbank within 60 days from the transfer of the funds to the account. In other cases standard fees for bank services will apply.
  • Interests specified in the terms of the specific emission shall be paid each year until the issue is redeemed. After the end of maturity of the issue of savings bonds, the funds for redeemed savings bonds and annual interest are transferred to your bank account.
  • If you need money earlier, you may sell savings bonds before the end of the agreement (if so specified in the issue conditions) and recover part of the saved interest. You may submit the application for the first redemption in internet bank or in a “Swedbank” client service subdivision not later than 25 working days before the date of the early redemption.
  • Savings bonds are distributed with the periods and at the prices established in the issue terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of the issue are established by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania.

Government savings notes may be acquired by:

  • natural persons;
  • individual enterprises;
  • partnerships;
  • cooperative companies;
  • agricultural companies;
  • public institutions;
  • associations (alliances, confederations, unions, societies);
  • charity and sponsorship funds;
  • public organisations;
  • trade unions;
  • religious communities;
  • associations of owners of multi-apartment residential buildings;
  • gardeners’ associations;
  • political parties;
  • household units.
