Keep your savings safe: invest in savings notes

  • The state guarantees that these debt securities will be redeemed and the interest will be paid to you on time.
  • The fixed interest rate is set before the distribution of relevant emission and remains the same for the entire term of saving note.
  • No fees are applicable for the purchase, safekeeping of savings notes and for the withdrawal of cash, received from savings notes in “Swedbank” branches (within 60 days as of the transfer of the funds to the account).

Sound investment solution

  • Savings notes are issued by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and are distributed by “Swedbank”.
  • Minimum investment – EUR 100
  • No fees will be applied for acquisition, safekeeping of savings bonds and withdrawal of cash received from savings notes. This provision is valid for withdrawal of cash, received from savings notes in "Swedbank" branches within 60 days of the transfer of the funds to the account. In other cases standard bank services fees and charges will apply.
  • Interests specified in the conditions of the relevant emission shall be paid every year until maturity. After the date of maturity funds from the redeemed savings notes and annual interest will be transferred to your bank account.
  • If you need money earlier, you may sell savings notes before it matures (if so specified in the issue conditions) and receive part of the accrued interest. You may submit the application for an early redemption in the internet bank or at your nearest "Swedbank" branch not later than 25 banking days before early redemption date.
  • Distribution period and distribution prices of savings notes are determined in the relevant issue conditions. The conditions of the issue are established by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania.

Government savings notes may be acquired by:

  • natural persons;
  • individual enterprises;
  • partnerships;
  • cooperative companies;
  • agricultural companies;
  • public institutions;
  • associations (alliances, confederations, unions, societies);
  • charity and sponsorship funds;
  • public organisations;
  • trade unions;
  • religious communities;
  • associations of owners of multi-apartment residential buildings;
  • gardeners’ associations;
  • political parties;
  • household units.
